A foundation for the future

Annual Giving

Annual gifts to the KAH Foundation will be used to make sure you and others in our service area will continue to have access to excellent medical services, delivered with care and compassion.

We can assure you that your generosity will be invested well in the future of health care in our area.

Annual Gifts to Keokuk Area Hospital Foundation will be recognized in three giving levels:

Keystone Logo

Keystone Society: $1000+

A Keystone is crucial to an arch, lending itself to the strength of the whole structure. The Keystone Society is made up of generous people who have the means to keep the whole Keokuk area health care system strong, so that it will stand for years to come.

Cornerstone Logo

Cornerstone Society: $500 - $999

Cornerstones make sure a structure is true and has integrity. Those who become members of the Cornerstone Society contribute to the integrity of the medical care provided by Keokuk Area Hospital.

Founders Logo

Founders Society: $121* - $499

The Founders Society calls to mind the foundation laid by those who established our antecedent hospitals and who provided the support of time, talent and dollars needed to insure good medical care then and now.

*Keokuk Area Hospital was founded 121 years ago, so the Founders Society gift level will change each year. In 2008, it will be $121; in 2009, $122; in 2010, $123, etc.

Memeorial and Honorary Giving

Memorial gifts may be given to the Foundation at any time. Funeral homes in the area have information and forms which may be used.  Memorials may be designated for a specific use or given to the general fund. All memorials will be listed in the Connections magazine.

The Foundation also accepts gifts to honor someone special in your life who is still living. Gifts are given to honor birthdays, anniversaries etc. Patients sometimes like to honor a special nurse or doctor who has provided care for them at Keokuk Area Hospital. All of the money given goes to the Foundation.

You will find both Memorial & Honorary Packets in the lobby of our hospital.

KAHF Legacy Society

The Board of Directors of the Keokuk Area Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that a new Society has been created to honor donors who remember the Foundation in their Planned Giving.

The Keokuk Area Hospital Foundation Legacy Society will honor donors who name the hospital as a beneficiary in their will, charitable gift annuity, trust or life insurance policy.

Anyone who has left a bequest of $10,000 or more to the foundation will be honored by being listed as a member of the Legacy Society. Our members, so far, include Ruth Raney and Mary Sue Jackson, faithful hospital volunteers who also remembered the foundation in their wills when they passed away this year. Ruth and Mary Sue will be listed as charter members of the society along with others who join the society by December 31 of 2004.

In order to build a solid FOUNDATION FOR THE FUTURE, we would also like to invite living donors into the society. Anyone who has arranged a qualifying planned gift to the KAH Foundation is eligible.

If you have named the hospital in your will or other planned gift mentioned above in which Keokuk Area Hospital Foundation is listed as the beneficiary, we hope that you will be willing to share that information with us so that we can enter you as a member in our Legacy Society. To express our appreciation, your name will be entered in the Legacy Society and included in our 2004 annual report published in Connections (unless you notify us that you do not want your name published).

Of course, we respect the fact that you may want to keep the amount of your bequest confidential. We will not be asking you to tell us the amount.only the fact that you are remembering the hospital foundation in your planned giving at the Legacy Society level. If your legacy is based on a percent of your estate and you anticipate that your bequest will be at least $10,000, you will qualify for the Society.

Over the years many area residents have designated the KAH Foundation as a beneficiary of their planned giving. I hope you will consider doing so in the future. Keokuk Area Hospital Foundation is the correct name to use when listing us as a beneficiary of your generosity.

We invite you to join us in our new Keokuk Area Hospital Legacy Society.
